About Me

Mahounan Yedomiffi

Provost Faculty Fellow and Assistant Professor in Economics
Dartmouth College

I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am currently a Provost Faculty Fellow at Dartmouth College, and I will be starting as an Assistant Professor in 2026. Additionally, I am a visiting scholar at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University from July to December this year.
My research interests lie in development economics, education, and labor.
I am a first-generation literate, born in a rural area without access to hospitals, electricity, or running water. Much of my research is inspired by my own life experiences and the challenges I witnessed growing up. Countless young people are currently facing the same obstacles I did. Through my research, I strive to answer the question: How can I improve the lives of the millions of “young-me” out there?

Focused on achieving tangible results, I prioritize strategies that foster growth and development. By setting clear goals, measuring progress, and adapting to challenges, I ensure continuous improvement that leads to meaningful outcomes and long-term success.

Collaboration

Collaboration is at the heart of every successful endeavor. By bringing together diverse perspectives and skills, I strive to foster teamwork that drives innovation, strengthens relationships, and achieves shared goals efficiently and effectivel

Data-Driven Creativity

Data-driven creativity blends analytical insights with innovative thinking to craft solutions that are both effective and impactful. By leveraging data, I ensure that creative decisions are informed, strategic, and aligned with real-world outcomes, leading to more targeted and meaningful results.
